ABOUT FUTURE
FUTURE primarily aims to use football as a social tool to foster a culture of environmental sustainability among children aged 6-11 years, increasing their awareness and social norms but also fostering an active approach to sustainability.
FUTURE aims to bring environmental sustainability outside the football field, using football to create awareness and sustainable behaviours among children and the EU population more generally.
We will train coaches to provide children with self-efficacy and skills to understand how their action impact the environment, and how to make their own sustainability plans; we aim to involve other sports as well as schools, and to make caregivers feel responsible for children’s education about environmental sustainability. FUTURE heavily relies on communication and dissemination, with a communication campaign with role models and national and international events largely resting on the powerful media channels of National Football Federations.
